My little Hazelnut is 4 months old! I can’t even believe how fast the time has gone, she’s 1/3 of a year old. Each day goes so fast I swear it’s over 5 minutes after it started. I don’t get much done (including showers) because I just stare at and play with her all day long. No matter how much time I spend with my little girl (all day every day), at the end of the day I feel like I didn’t get enough. She’s everything, I don’t know how I’ll ever be able to leave her for a day. I’m so happy and lucky to be her mama.
Hazel has grown so much over the past 4 months, it makes me really proud and sad. She holds her head up very well, has rolled over a few times (not really on purpose), and spins in circles on her play mats. She loathes tummy time. She giggles but is discerning as to what she thinks is funny (mostly uncle Jordan and auntie Melissa). She loves music and her binky (we finally found one she’ll take, this one). She no longer sleeps or naps (she hates naps) in her swaddle and dock-a-tot, we transitioned her to this weird sleepsuit in her crib (still in our room because I can’t be away from her). She loves mermaid kicks and does them 24/7. She is in the midst of a month long sleep regression that started after we got to California. She sleeps 2-4.5 hours and then wakes up every 2 after that (it’s super fun for mama). She’s beautiful and hilarious and wakes up smiling and giggling every single morning. She has started to love making elephant sounds and does it all the time. She now does really well in the car with her binky. She loves her exersaucer and no longer fears the sounds the attached toys make. She’s getting closer and closer to being able to sit up (but she’s not that close). She loves grabbing things and putting them in her mouth. She tries to and has successfully held her bottle (she takes 1 pumped bottle a day so I can nap) for short periods at a time. She finally takes a bottle again so Brian and I can have date nights (If I can ever leave her) but will only take this one. She’s obsessed with being outside and loves plants. She cranes her neck way back to stare at her favorites and will choose and follow one with her eyes when we walk. She loves the beach but hates the water. Basically she’s perfect, unique, opinionated, and silly, and we love her so much.
