So crazy I’m this far along already! It really has flown by this time and I feel totally unprepared. We haven’t set up any of the baby’s things, cleaned, packed bags, nothing. I also have such nerves about my impending birthing time. Hopefully they fade a bit as I get closer. I can’t believe I will have given birth twice in 2 years soon. Wild.
Baby boy is big, healthy, and no longer breech. I do NOT have diabetes and unless I have a sudden wave of massive weight gain…like 20 lbs in 6 weeks (possible), I will end up at a smaller size than last time, which would be nice though it truly doesn’t matter. Healthy mama and baby, that’s all that matters. My whole pregnancy has been infinitely easier this time and it’s been so nice, especially with a tiny tot to chase and love up on all day long.
Little boy, I still can’t believe we’re having a little boy! I’m so excited to meet him, hold him, feed him, and just absorb his sweet little energy. Newborns are so magical, even when they’re going through a hard time with reflux or whatever the case may be. You don’t have perspective with your first so I’m just really looking forward to going through this short and lovely phase again with our boy. I think he may come a week or 2 early around the 16th, but that’s probably wishful thinking, we’ll see!
How far along? 33 weeks (really 34), 42 days left!
Trimester? 3rd!!! Wooo final phase.
Total weight gain/loss: So far I’ve gained 20 lbs.
Baby size: Pineapple, 17.24 inches from head to toe, 4.19-4.41 lbs.
Maternity clothes? Yes!!!! My belly is out of control, my tank tops officially can’t cover the bottom half anymore, so maternity tops it is! Let’s be real though, I’ve been 50/50 wearing them the whole time for comfort. Also maternity pants are a preggo’s paradise.
Stretch marks? No new ones yet.
Sleep: My pregnancy insomnia has begun! Last night I could not fall asleep till after 6 AM. No reason, I was tired it just wouldn’t happen. This happened last time too, and when labor started at 5 AM I had not yet slept. Hopefully that doesn’t happen this time!
Best moment this week: Getting our final ultrasound and finding out our son is fully fine. No crazy dilated ventricles, just a big boy estimated to end up at at least 9 lbs. Also getting most the last of our baby stuff in the mail has helped curb some of my nestiness (not really). Oh and our boy is no longer breech!
Have you told family and friends: Yes! We told everyone right away at 8 weeks when we found out. We couldn’t wait this time!
Movement: Little guy moves 24/7 in varying degrees. Our ultrasonographer was shocked how active he is and said that’s how mamas get broken ribs. He’s gentle though for the most part, just wild.
Food cravings: Meh. Not really. I like sweet drinks like natural teas and whatnot.
Anything making you queasy or sick: No.
Have you started to show yet: Yes! Feeling enormous!!!!! I feel bigger than I was at the end with Hazel, but besides my belly I’m not.
Leakage: Yes, colostrum has arrived. I also get phantom let-down feelings like my milk is coming in but I know it isn’t.
Gender prediction: We are having a boy, confirmed via anatomy scan at 20 weeks.
Labor Signs: Lots of BH, but other than that no.
Belly Button in or out? I have a full flatty. My inny wasn’t super deep so it’s as “out” as it’s going to get.
Wedding rings on or off? On, I haven’t swelled at all.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Moody but not grumpy, just on and off weepy from all we’ve been through the last while.
Weekly Wisdom: Whatever happens just roll with it. You can’t control what goes on in your womb-sack so just be happy, calm, and hope for the best!
Milestones: Baby is just growing big and strong. No real changes beyond his growing and his lungs getting stronger. Oh I also see my midwives every other week now instead of monthly.
