I can’t believe how close this pregnancy is to being over! I feel so unprepared and so ready at the same time. Birthing is so intimidating to me, though I’ve done it before. I think had my first experience been better I might feel great right now, but I’m still traumatized and I’m almost more nervous this time.
I am so excited to meet my son, I can’t even handle that part. Seeing his little face for the first time, holding him, feeding him, all of it. I just can’t wait to meet this stranger living inside my body. You have all these ideas of what your children will be like and look like before they’re born, and when you meet them that all washes away and you feel like…of course this is who you are. Getting to watch them grow and learn and develop their personality is magical.
This is our final baby and It’s just surreal I’m almost done with this phase of life. I won’t house more humans and my body will be mine again for life. It’s weird after spending over 2 years pregnant and/or breastfeeding, but also I’m really excited to be done and have a little more energy, because I’m not growing people.
How far along? 34 Weeks (really 35)
Trimester? 3rd!!! Wooo final phase.
Total weight gain/loss: So far I’ve gained 23 lbs.
Baby size: Cantelope, 17.72 inches from head to toe, 4.74 lbs.
Maternity clothes? Hell yes. Give me all the comfies.
Stretch marks? No new ones yet. My pregnancy with Hazel pretty much got me covered, but we’ll see if they expand or I get new ones.
Sleep: I don’t sleep great, but I sleep some. It’s just so uncomfortable having such a giant belly and the baby puts so much pressure on organs, bones, etc.
Best moment this week: Having 2 days and nights with just Brian. Brian’s sister watched Hazel for us and we had a little staycation that was so needed. We drove up to the mountains, got some Lush bath stuff, played games, and just got to live schedule free enjoying dates and time together. It was so great.
Have you told family and friends: Yes! We couldn’t wait and told everyone at 8 weeks when we found out.
Movement: Baby boy is a wild child, at least in utero. He’s moving 24/7 hooking my ribs with his feet, sliding his booty around, just really going to town.
Food cravings: Lemonade, pumpkin pie.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not at all, I feel amazing this time.
Have you started to show yet: Yes! Feeling enormous!!!!! I can now use my belly as a shelf.
Leakage: Yes, the boobs are ready.
Gender prediction: We are having a boy, confirmed via anatomy scan at 20 weeks.
Labor Signs: Lots of BH contractions but that’s it.
Belly Button in or out? I have a full flatty. My inny wasn’t super deep so it’s as “out” as it’s going to get.
Wedding rings on or off? On. I haven’t swelled at all yet.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy! Just really tired and low energy. Really getting ready to be done, but nervous at the same time.
Weekly Wisdom: Whatever happens just roll with it. You can’t control what goes on in your womb-sack so just be happy, calm, and hope for the best!
Milestones: Baby is just growing big and strong. No real changes beyond his growing and lungs getting stronger. Oh I also see my midwives every other week now instead of monthly.
