35 weeks, hot damn! This is happening! We are so close to meeting our little boy and Hazel becoming a big sister. As I type this I’m having Braxton Hicks contractions, so crazy he really could come any time now. We are so not ready around the house, but we’ll hopefully get there soon. Carseat needs to be washed and Hazel’s big girl seat installed.
How far along? 35 Weeks (really 36)
Trimester? 3rd!!! Wooo final phase.
Total weight gain/loss: So far I’ve gained 24 lbs.
Baby size: Bunch of grapes, 18.66 inches from head to toe, 5.73 lbs.
Maternity clothes? The belly is large and in charge. Maternity clothes are required. My belly now pops out below my tank tops, it’s both a classy and cute look I’m sure everyone outside the confines of my home would enjoy.
Stretch marks? No new ones yet, I’m pretty much covered from last time…but a few have grown a tiny bit. Yay. If you don’t get this curse you are so lucky. Savor your fresh line-free skin. I don’t mind them but I mean…who wants them really?
Sleep: I sleep, but I flail clumsily around all night flopping like a fish from side to side. Nothing is comfortable, and this baby feels enormous. I also of course have to pee at least twice a night. Brian gives me a few hours of bonus sleep every morning and wakes up with Hazel.
Best moment this week: Baby prepping. Seeing all our nugget’s things and where he’s going to be sleeping and everything come together is really surreal. I will have children soon…not a child…CHILDREN. Omg.
Have you told family and friends: Yes! We told everyone when we found out at 8 weeks.
Movement: Baby likes to slide his butt all over town. He also kicks to the side a lot and something in there is making my spine ache. Probably his giant Brian head.
Food cravings: Sweet drinks like lemonade. I also always want a vegan impossible burger, they have them at Cheesecake Factory and they’re so good.
Anything making you queasy or sick: No I feel pretty great as far as that goes. I have had a vomit-free pregnancy.
Have you started to show yet: Yes! Feeling enormous!!!!! I look like someone glued a human egg to my body, which is basically what’s happened.
Leakage: Yes but not everyday and only while I’m sleeping. The boobs are ready.
Gender prediction: We are having a boy, confirmed via anatomy scan at 20 weeks. We also did a Sneak Peek blood test at 9 weeks.
Labor Signs: No, but I have lots and lots of Braxton Hicks contractions, which I never really felt with Hazel, at least not like these. It feels like a blood pressure cuff tightening around me up to my neck and slowly releasing, but painless.
Belly Button in or out? I have a full flatty. My inny wasn’t super deep so it’s as “out” as it’s going to get.
Wedding rings on or off? Off, at the end of 35 weeks swelling started. It’s mild, I just don’t like the feel of my ring anymore.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy, anxious, nervous, excited. Our life is about to change so much and It’s really exciting, but birthing is nerve-wracking after how it went last time; and we will have 2 young babies one of which wants to walk around holding your hand all day. I’m prepared for a very wild year.
Weekly Wisdom: Whatever happens just roll with it. You can’t control what goes on in your womb-sack so just be happy, calm, and hope for the best!
Milestones: I officially had my last 2 week appointment, all will be weekly from now on. Baby is head down, 26 days left!
