The last 3 weeks of pregnancy, in my opinion, are endless. Each day feels like 77 days. My entire body aches, I’m swollen, I’m so tired, and I’m impatient and excited to meet my little man! I know he has to come out sometime, so I guess that’s good news. I am however not a patient person, not at all. Waiting I think, would be my least favorite activity in life if I had to choose one. Here’s to hoping this dude isn’t 6 days late like his sister!
I still haven’t finished packing our hospital bags, maybe because I know he’s going to take his sweet sweet time, but that is my number one priority as I am 39 weeks pregnant tomorrow. His little space is ready for him though, so that makes me feel good.
I was so chill with Hazel till the end really, but this time I’ve been super irritable lately, I’m very testy about annoying things that really shouldn’t bug me like gum chewing, and people making any gross or loud sounds. I also have zero patience for annoyances at the doctor’s office and am surly towards the aggressive receptionists. Almost everyone I know never even makes it to their due date before their baby arrives…so I feel like no one I know knows my misery, though they do minus one week. Basically I’m a really good time right now, wanna hang out? Bring gum!
How far along? 38 Weeks (39 tomorrow) 8 more days!
Trimester? 3rd!!! Wooo final phase.
Total weight gain/loss: So far I’ve gained 30 lbs.
Baby size: Leek, 6.8 lbs, 19.5 inches long.
Maternity clothes? Yes please. My gourd of a belly likes to pop out below all my tops now, as beautifully displayed above.
Stretch marks? No new ones, a few have slightly expanded from last time. They are mostly all still faded and not growing.
Sleep: I am so uncomfortable all night, but I do get some sleep. I flop around every half hour to ease the spine or hip pains I get, but I fall back asleep. This phase is so hard physically. Baby is so big and slides and moves so much.
Best moment this week: Just spending time with my family of 3 before we become a family of 4.
Have you told family and friends: Yes! We told everyone right when we found out at 8 weeks.
Movement: Baby boy is a wild child. He stretches and kicks and slides stuff around 24/7.
Food cravings: Meh. Not a pregnant person that really gets cravings. I’m hungry all the time and like sweets more than normal.
Anything making you queasy or sick: No.
Have you started to show yet: Yes! Feeling enormous!!!!! I officially waddle.
Leakage: Yes, the boobs are ready. Crazy I only stopped breastfeeding Hazel 3.5 months ago.
Gender prediction: We are having a boy, confirmed via anatomy scan at 20 weeks. We also did a Sneak Peek blood test at 9 weeks.
Labor Signs: No, lots of Braxton Hicks contractions though. Baby boy is posterior like his sister so I may not have labor signs before my water breaks again.
Belly Button in or out? I have a full flatty. My inny wasn’t super deep so it’s as “out” as it’s going to get.
Wedding rings on or off? Off, at the end of 35 weeks swelling started. It’s fairly mild, I just don’t like the feel of my ring anymore.
Happy or Moody most of the time: I am irritable. I want my baby now please and to be able to bend and walk, you know, the basics.
Weekly Wisdom: Whatever happens just roll with it. You can’t control what goes on in your womb-sack so just be happy, calm, and hope for the best!
Milestones: I don’t have strep-b, I’m almost to the one week mark if this nugget arrives on his due date, but he technically could come any time now.
