We’re loading up all of our things today! The big move is happening and happening so soon! This time we aren’t driving, we thought that’d be bad for our little Hazelnut and my very pregnant bod, so we’re shipping our stuff and meeting it in PA. We’ll get there a few days early to explore and relax, and have the hard part over with.
I’ve been very anxious about the whole thing. We aren’t California people at all, but we’ve moved so much. Leaving memory places gets to me. This is where Hazel became a little toddler! Because of that I’ll always have a little attachment. I am extremely excited to be somewhere green with seasons again, and get a little closer to buying our first home together.
This prenancy is flying by! I can’t believe how soon we’ll meet our little guy. I haven’t prepared at all yet this time so I’m so ready to get on that when we get settled. It’s crazy how little time you have to focus on your prenancy and baby the second time around. It’s good, but crazy.
How far along? 23 weeks (really 24 because I can never do these on time)
Total weight gain/loss: So far I’ve gained 8 lbs this pregnancy.
Baby size: Large mango, 11.34 inches from head to toe, 1.1 lb
Maternity clothes? Oh yes, welcome to my body you glorious comfort rags.
Stretch marks? Nope, even though I’m showing much more than last time, thus far no new stretchies.
Sleep: Sleep was pretty terrible. I have a hard time staying asleep with all my pee needs. I also flop around like a beached whale trying to get comfortable all night, and my SPD pains are the icing on the cake.
Best moment this week: Packing for our big move to Philadelphia! It’s been challenging (and I’ve done basically nothing but keep the child away from stuff, but it’s exciting! Moving to new places is an anxiety ridden adventure. It’s crazy hard for me mentally and physically, but so worth it.
Have you told family and friends: Yes! We told everyone right after we found out, around 8 weeks. We just couldn’t wait this time!
Movement: Little boy moves like crazy. He’s very close to the surface most of the time and I can feel his little tiny body. At first I thought I was feeling my intestines or something lol just because it was so weird compared to last time, Hazel was never that close to the surface just hanging out. But it’s my boy! He kicks a lot and slides around.
Food cravings: No, I really don’t get cravings while pregnant. I always want soda, which for me is weird. I hadn’t had it in probably 4 years before Hazel and will have to get back to that after this little one arrives.
Anything making you queasy or sick: No.
Have you started to show yet: Yes! I’ve got a decent sized bump. My belly is 39 inches, it was 44 inches at 40 weeks last time.
Leakage: A little bit!
Gender prediction: We are having a boy, confirmed via anatomy scan at 20 weeks.
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? Flat with a small umbilical hernia I earned from pushing Hazel out for 4 hours. It almost looks like an outtie but it’s all an illusion! Hopefully after this little is born I can tighten this bod up enough to fix that hernia naturally.
Wedding rings on or off? On, I haven’t swelled at all.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Moody, but mostly weepy not grumpy. I’m a stress machine about our move.
Weekly Wisdom: Sleep while you have the chance! You’ll pretty much never get to sleep in again.
Milestones: Baby’s lips are becoming cute and defined, his brain is developing, and his lungs are maturing, he is getting so big!
