3rd trimester suckas!!! We made it, and it’s all happened/happening so fast, which is a huge contrast from my pregnancy with Hazel. We’ll meet our son in around 12 weeks. I can’t wait to hold him, see his face, look into his beautiful eyes, and feed him for the first time. Newborns are so incredible and those first few moments are both insane and magical. It’s crazy how much you can love someone you’ve never even met. I feel very much in love with my little boy.
Today’s our 28 week appointment and first appointment with my new midwives. From now on appointments are every 2 weeks.
How far along? 28 weeks 2 days.
Trimester? 3rd!!! Wooo final phase.
Total weight gain/loss: So far I’ve gained 11 lbs.
Baby size: Large eggplant, 14.76 inches from head to toe, 2.2-2.43 lbs.
Maternity clothes? Oh yes. Mostly maternity jeans with the stretchy bit that goes up to your bra, and shirts. So comfy.
Stretch marks? Nope, no new ones yet. I keep up with my daily greasing ritual, but I know it’s all genetic and if I’m destined for more it’ll happen no matter what I do. I got them around 35 weeks last time.
Sleep: Sleep is unpleasant. I roll and thrash like a shark on land, and just don’t fall asleep. My SPD paints are back too and they are so awful at night.
Best moment this week: Having Brian back home! He has been gone/busy for weeks with everything going on in our lives and I always miss him like crazy. Also hearing baby’s heartbeat again.
Have you told family and friends: Yes! We told everyone when we found out at 8 weeks, we couldn’t keep it a secret this time.
Movement: Yes! This boy is so much more active than Hazel was. He kicks and moves around all day and night. It’s so fun! He reminds me through my busy days that he’s there.
Food cravings: I want Samoa cookies but the Girl Scouts are nowhere to be found. Probably for the best as I really don’t need to be eating cookies. Also frozen yogurt.
Anything making you queasy or sick: No. I haven’t really been nauseous much this time, and no vomiting!
Have you started to show yet: Yes! Feeling enormous!!!!!
Gender prediction: We are having a little boy, confirmed via anatomy scan at 20 weeks.
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? It’s flat and weird lol. Not the cutest button.
Wedding rings on or off? On, I haven’t swelled at all.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Super emotional lately, but we’ve been through a lot the past month.
Weekly Wisdom: It’s ok if you have hard moments and everything isn’t pure magical bliss. Life is busy and messy and imperfect, that’s what makes it so special. The hard days make you appreciate the good. The easy good times give you beautiful memories, and making it through struggles makes you feel strong and capable. Roll with it and know it’s ok.
Milestones: I’ve officially entered the 3rd trimester! It’s surreal, scary, and exciting. It blows my mind we could meet our son in around 12 weeks! This pregnancy has flown by. Baby boy is so strong, over 2 lbs, and perfection.
