So this post has been a long time coming, but I was extra motivated today by my deep desire for food. I’m currently on a 3 day juice cleanse which I started to help drop the junk food habits I developed whilst constantly traveling. I’m on day 1, I’ve had 3 of my 6 juices (which were not yummy by the way), and I am starving! In about 15 minutes I get to enjoy my 4th, which is not a green drink (thank you and finally). Basically I’ve been looking at all the delicious food pictures I took in Charleston a few weeks ago wishing I could will the food to jump out of my computer and into my face (though I’m proud of myself for sticking with it so far…I will complete this challenge).
By far the favorite restaurant of our trip to Charleston was CO Pan-Asian Cuisine. Granted Brian and I have never had authentic Asian cuisine of any kind, but for us it was the best we’ve ever had. We had been dying to find some delicious Asian noodles for years (basically since we moved to Arizona…I’m so glad we’re not still there!), and finally we fulfilled our soul’s desire.
We started with spinach and waterchestnut dumplings. They were to die for, and even more so with CO’s own sauces (Shanghai and sriracha). We loved them so much we bought 2 bottles and are currently almost out of the Shanghai sauce. We also ordered these delicious blackberry spritzers (non-alcoholic) and they were so refreshing. More please!
Brian and I ordered the same dish with different proteins. We chose the spicy udon noodles, I chose tofu (the best) and Brian chose shrimp.
The tofu was the perfect texture, well seasoned, and extremely delicious. Definitely our new favorite Asian restaurant. Thankfully they have a location in Charlotte as well, so we can have noodles all the time! I can’t wait to eat food again. If you’re ever in Charlotte or Charleston, check out CO!
